Monday 18th May, 2020 – 7 for 7:30pm
The Caledonian Club, 9 Halkin Street, Belgravia, London SW1X 7DR
The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 54 independent and equal countries, of which 31 are small states, many of them island nations. It is home to 2.4 billion people, and includes both advanced economies and developing countries.
Robert Hardman is one of the foremost observers of the modern British Royal scene. He has covered all aspects of the Monarchy for the British media for over 25 years and has interviewed many members of the Royal family for his books and films.
At this seminar supper Robert will offer some reflections on the modern Commonwealth and The Queen’s position within it, a subject he has explored in his recent book Queen of the World. Those attending this event are invited to order copies of Queen of the World (PB) at a reduced price of £5.99 (RRP £9.99).
Our venue for this seminar supper is The Caledonian Club. Originally founded in 1891 it is the representative national club and headquarters for Scots in London.
Please note the Caledonian Club’s dress code: “In the public rooms, gentlemen are required to wear suits or jackets with ties and ladies to conform to the same standard.” A clerical collar is of course accepted in place of a tie.
