Museum Visit and Seminar Supper: Lords Cricket Ground / Theology of Sport
Speaker: Lincoln Harvey, Asst Dean, St Mellitus
Lords – the home of cricket – is one of the world’s most famous sports grounds, steeped in over 200 years of history and tradition. The tour will include the grade 2 listed Pavilion, the legendary Long Room and players’ dressing rooms with their honours boards, and the MCC Museum. Members will be shown fascinating architecture and a great collection of art and memorabilia.
After the tour, the seminar lunch will be held a short distance away at Crocker’s Folly, a Grade II listed pub in St John’s Wood. Built in 1898 by architect Charles Worley, it is an opulent Victorian pub with fine marble fittings.
Our Speaker during lunch at Crocker’s Folly will be Lincoln Harvey, Assistant Dean at St Mellitus College and Lecturer in Systematic Theology, who will be talking to the Sion College party about the Theology of Sport.
