Jeremy Morris argues that, for most of the history of Britain, the Church was so bound into culture, values and beliefs that it would have made little sense for people to see it as anything other than the overarching framework in which they interpreted the world. His recent book, A People's Church, is available to attendees at a discounted price of £16.50 (RRP £30).
The Revd Jeremy Morris is a historian specialising in church history. He received his BA and DPhil from Balliol College at Oxford. He has recently retired as Master of Trinity Hall, Cambridge and was previously Dean of Chapel of King's College, Cambridge from 2010-14, and Dean of Trinity Hall from 2001-10. In 2017, he was awarded The Lanfranc Award for Education and Scholarship by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
