Terry Waite MBE, CBE is a British Quaker, Anglican, humanitarian and author. In the 1980s, he worked as the Archbishop of Canterbury’s special envoy, travelling to the Middle East and negotiating the release of many hostages in Iran, Libya and Lebanon. His first book, Taken on Trust, was written in his head when he was denied pen or paper during his captivity. He is the author of, among others, Travels with a Primate, Solitude, and Out of the Silence: Memories, poems, reflections.
Terry Waite’s recent book Solitude is available in hardback to those attending this event at the greatly reduced price of £9.99 (RRP £16.99).

Sion events are often over-subscribed and each place is generously subsidised. If you are offered a place but are unable to attend for any reason, please let the office know so that your place may be offered to another applicant. In the event of failure to attend without notice after being reserved a place, the Court will require a refund of the subsidy. Application for a place at any Sion event constitutes acceptance of this proviso.
